COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 132,603 persons on Tuesday, with 64.35% of the country’s population now fully vaccinated against the virus.
Our World in Data states that 74.36% of the population has received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 15,987,913 persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 13,836,707 persons have received the second dose as well.
The third dose has been administered to 3,691,716 persons. On Tuesday, 127,854 persons received the booster dose, for which the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is being used.
Urging the public to get their booster dose, Prof. Channa Jayasumana said: “We ordered 14 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to administer as the third dose from the United States of America. We have received 6.4 million of this. We are due to receive the remaining 7.6 million within the next two weeks.”
The first dose of Pfizer was administered to 1,084 persons on Tuesday and 244 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. In total, the first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 1,572,762 persons and 474,965 persons have received the second dose.
The first dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 11,971,609 persons and the second dose has been administered to 10,999,976 persons. On Tuesday, 1,079 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 2,342 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,479,631 persons and the second dose has been administered to 1,418,593 persons.
A total of 804,801 persons have received the first dose of Moderna and the second dose of the vaccine has been administered to 787,361 persons.
The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,110 persons and the second dose has been administered to 155,812 persons.
