14,205 persons vaccinated against COVID-19

COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 14,205 persons on Saturday and 64.41% of the country’s population has received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Our World in Data states that 74.4% of the population has received the first dose.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 15,993,676 persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, 13,846,323 persons have received the second dose, and 4,072,350 persons have received the third or booster dose.

The booster dose was administered to 13,174 persons on Saturday.

Explaining that Sri Lanka has received a level of protection due to high vaccination rates, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said: “We request all persons to get the booster dose as soon as possible.” The Epidemiology Unit states that 272 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm on Saturday, raising the total number of persons to have received the first dose of the vaccine to 11,974,292. The second dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 11,006,135 persons, including 613 persons vaccinated on Saturday.

On Saturday, the first dose of Pfizer was administered to 127 persons and the second dose was administered to 19 persons. In total, the first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 1,575,842 persons and 478,422 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.

The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,479,631 persons and the second dose has been administered to 1,418,593 persons.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 804,801 persons have received the first dose of Moderna, and 787,361 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.

The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,110 persons and the second dose has been administered to 155,812 persons.
