15 members nominated for Parliamentary Business Committee

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena yesterday announced a list of 15 members nominated by the Committee of Selection, to serve in the Committee on Parliamentary Business in the fourth session of the ninth Parliament.

Nimal Siripala de Silva, Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi, Douglas Devananda, Mahinda Amaraweera, M.U.M. Ali Sabry PC., Kanchana Wijesekera, Naseer Ahamed, Chamal Rajapaksa, Johnston Fernando, Gamini Lokuge, Wajira Abeywardana, C.B. Rathnayake, Rohitha Abegunawardhana, Namal Rajapaksa, and Sagara Kariyawasam have been nominated to serve in the Committee on Parliamentary Business.

With the Speaker as the Chair, the Deputy Speaker, the Deputy Chairperson of Committees, the Leader of the House of Parliament, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, the Chief Government Whip and the Chief Opposition Whip, the aforementioned members have been nominated to serve in the Committee on Parliamentary Business.

The announcement by Speaker Abeywardena was in terms of the provisions of the Standing Order 115 of the Parliament and the motion agreed to by Parliament yesterday.
