17 COVID-19 fatalities raise death toll to 14,901

Health authorities yesterday confirmed 17 persons succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday, raising the country’s death toll to 14,901.

As per the Department of Government Information, of the fatalities 11 were male and six were female.

The COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Sunday include 10 persons over 60 years, six persons between 30 and 59 years and one person from the under 30 years age group. Of the cumulative fatalities, 8,340 were male and 6,544 were female.

The Epidemiology Unit also said that 76.47% of the total fatalities were over the age of 60, 22.36% aged between 30 and 59 years, and 1.17% below the age of 30.
