A total of 184,695 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Thursday and 93.8% of the country’s population over the age of 30 has received at least one dose of a vaccine thus far.
Both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to 23.3% of the country’s population over the age of 30 and 100% first dose coverage has been achieved in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kandy, Matale, Vavuniya, and Polonnaruwa Districts.
Over 90% first dose coverage has been achieved in the Hambantota, Galle, Kalmunai, Ratnapura, Nuwara Eliya, Badulla, Mannar, and Matara Districts.
In total, the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 10,777,259 persons and the second dose to 2,679,076 persons.
On Thursday, 31,323 persons received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 26,067 persons received the second dose of AstraZeneca. The first dose has been administered to a total of 1,035,554 persons and the second dose has been administered to 833,606 persons.
A shipment of 727,540 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine through the COVAX Facility is expected today. This is the second half of a total of 1,456,000 doses donated by Japan.
Sri Lanka is also due to receive a batch of 1.86 million doses of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine tomorrow.
The first dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 8,615,292 persons and the second dose to 1,830,680 persons. This includes the 79,182 persons vaccinated with the first dose and 6,878 persons vaccinated with the second dose on Thursday.
The second dose of Sputnik V was administered to 13 persons on Thursday. In total, the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 159,081 persons and the second dose to 14,516 persons.
The first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was administered to 41,156 persons on Thursday and the second dose to 76 persons. In total, 243,971 persons have received the first dose of the vaccine and 274 persons have received the second dose.
In addition to this, the first dose of the Moderna vaccine has been administered to 723,361 persons.
