COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 188,052 persons on Saturday, with 60% of the country’s population over the age of 30 having received both doses of a vaccine.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 98.8% second dose coverage has been achieved in the eligible population in Matale District while 80% of the over 30 population in Western Province has received the second dose as well.
In total, the first dose of a vaccine has been administered to 12,309,254 persons and the second dose to 7,042,418 persons.
This includes 9,703,557 persons the first dose of Sinopharm was administered to and 5,331,070 persons the second dose was administered to. On Saturday, 14,207 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 131,544 persons received the second dose. Five persons received the Moderna first dose on Saturday while 36,261 persons received the second dose. The first dose of Moderna has been administered to a total of 771,464 persons and the second dose to 620,285 persons.
A total of 1,368,772 persons have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 883,019 persons have received the second dose as well. On Saturday, 4,528 persons received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 679 persons received the second dose.
32 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and 796 persons received the second dose of Pfizer on Saturday. The first dose of the vaccine has been administered to a total of 306,373 persons and the second dose to 182,555 persons.
The Epidemiology Unit adds that 159,088 persons have received the Sputnik V first dose and 25,489 persons have received the Sputnik V second dose.
