189,434 persons vaccinated against COVID-19

Over two million persons have received the booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in Sri Lanka and 189,434 persons were vaccinated against the virus on Thursday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 15,964,289 persons and the second dose has been administered to 13,803,820 persons. Our World in Data states that 74.25% of the country’s population has received the first dose and 64.2% has received the second dose as well.

The booster dose has been administered to 2,058,791 persons. This includes 185,888 persons vaccinated on Thursday.

On Thursday, 789 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 1,712 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. In total, 11,960,092 persons have received the first dose of Sinopharm and 10,972,235 persons have received the second dose as well. The first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 1,560,655 persons and the second dose has been administered to 469,819 persons. On Thursday, 549 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and 496 persons received the second dose.

The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,479,631 persons and 1,418,593 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.

A total of 804,801 persons have received the first dose of Moderna and 787,361 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.

The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,110 persons and the second dose has been administered to 155,812 persons.
