Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 13,927 after health authorities confirmed 19 COVID-19 fatalities on Wednesday.
Fifteen COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Wednesday were over the age of 60 and this age group accounts for 76.47% of the total COVID-19 fatalities in the country. Four COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Wednesday were between 30 and 59 years. Zero deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 22.35% of the total COVID-19 fatalities are between 30 and 59 years and 1.18% of the fatalities are below the age of 30.
Health officials state that 7,775 COVID-19 fatalities are male and 6,152 fatalities are female. Eleven COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday were male and eight COVID-19 fatalities were female.
