20 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 16,287 following the confirmation of 20 COVID-19 fatalities on Wednesday.

The Department of Government Information states that 18 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday were over 60 years and two fatalities were between 30 and 59 years. Zero COVID-19 deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group on Wednesday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.22% of the total COVID-19 deaths are over 60 years, 22.46% of the deaths are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.32% of the deaths are below 30 years.

Of the total COVID-19 deaths, 9,183 are male and 7,104 are female. 11 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday were female and nine were male.
