COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 21,746 persons on Sunday and the Epidemiology Unit states that 90% of the country’s population over the age of 20 has received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Epidemiology Unit adds that 14,987,889 persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 13,156,574 persons have received the second dose as well. According to Our World in Data, 69.66% of the country’s population has received the first dose and 61.06% has received both doses.
Sri Lanka yesterday received 305,370 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. At present, the AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Moderna, Pfizer and Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccines are being administered in the country.The first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 674,951 persons and the second dose has been administered to 432,125 persons. On Sunday, 7,711 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and 527 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.
On Sunday, 613 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 11,191 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. In total, the first dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 11,871,169 persons, of which 10,410,309 persons have received the second dose as well.
The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,479,575 persons and 1,387,229 persons have received both doses of AstraZeneca. This includes the 654 persons who received the second dose of AstraZeneca on Sunday.
The second dose of Moderna was administered to 1,050 persons on Sunday, raising the total number of persons to receive the second dose of the vaccine to 771,257. The first dose of Moderna has been administered to 803,098 persons.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 159,096 persons have received the first dose of Sputnik V and 155,654 persons have received the second dose of Sputnik V.
