22 COVID-19 fatalities raise death toll to 14,720

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 14,720 after health officials confirmed 22 COVID-19 fatalities on Thursday.

Among the COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Thursday were 19 persons over 60 years and three persons between 30 and 59 years. Zero COVID-19 deaths from the under-30 age group were confirmed on Thursday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.47% of the total COVID-19 fatalities were over 60 years, 22.36% of the fatalities were between 30 and 59 years, and 1.17% of the fatalities were below 30 years.

Of the total COVID-19 deaths, 8,253 were male and 6,467 were female. Fifteen COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Thursday were male and seven were female.
