COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 225,521 persons on Saturday, raising the total number of persons to receive the first dose of a vaccine to 13,458,621 and the second dose of a vaccine to 10,544,228.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 88.2% of the population over the age of 30 have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 35.4% of the 20 to 29 year population have received one dose of a vaccine and 12.3% have received both doses of the vaccine.
The first dose of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 10,653,261 persons and the second dose has been administered to 8,614,123 persons. On Saturday, 70,260 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 119,346 persons received the second dose of Sinopharm. The first dose of AstraZeneca was administered to 5,116 persons on Saturday, while 1,366 persons received the second dose of AstraZeneca. The first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine has been administered to a total of 1,437,275 persons, of which 891,734 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 436,041 persons and the second dose has been administered to 240,231 persons. This includes persons vaccinated on Saturday, when 11,936 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and 157 persons received the second dose of Pfizer.
29 persons received the first dose of Moderna on Saturday and 17,311 persons received the second dose of Moderna on Saturday. A total of 772,955 persons have received the first dose of Moderna and 754,690 persons have received the second dose of Moderna.
In addition to this, 159,089 persons have received the first dose of Sputnik V and 43,450 persons have received the second dose of Sputnik V.
State Minister of Meanwhile, Pharmaceutical Production, Supply and Regulation Channa Jayasumana stated that four million doses of Pfizer are expected in October, which will be used to vaccinate children.
While health officials are awaiting recommendations from the expert committee on COVID-19 vaccination, Jayasumana said they have received recommendations on the vaccination of children with disabilities.
