Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 14,484 after health officials confirmed 23 COVID-19 fatalities on Sunday.
20 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Sunday were over 60 years and this age group accounts for 76.5% of the total COVID-19 fatalities. Three COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Sunday were between 30 and 59 years. Zero COVID-19 deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 22.33% of the COVID-19 fatalities are between 30 and 59 years and 1.17% of the fatalities are below 30 years.
The Epidemiology Unit adds that 8,115 COVID-19 fatalities are male and 6,369 COVID-19 fatalities are female.
15 COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Sunday were male and eight were female.
