27 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 15,926 after health officials confirmed 27 COVID-19 fatalities on Wednesday.

The COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Wednesday include 19 persons over 60 years and eight persons between 30 and 59 years. Zero COVID-19 deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group on Wednesday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.24% of the total COVID-19 deaths are over 60 years, 22.46% of the fatalities are between 30 and 59 years and 1.3% of the fatalities are below 30 years.

The Epidemiology Unit adds that 8,977 of the total COVID-19 fatalities are male and 6,949 are female.

17 COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Wednesday were male and 10 were female.
