COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 285,288 persons on Monday, raising the number of persons to receive the first dose to 11,932,934 and the number of persons to receive the second dose to 4,848,471.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 42.2% of the country’s population over the age of 30 has received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. First dose coverage has been achieved fully in the Colombo, Gampaha, Vavuniya, Matale, Galle, Kandy, Ratnapura, Polonnaruwa, and Hambantota Districts.
Second dose coverage is highest in Kalutara District, where 71.4% have received both doses. In Colombo, the second dose has been administered to 70.5% of the population over the age of 30.
Among persons vaccinated on Monday are 48,764 persons who received the first dose of Sinopharm and 226,516 persons who received the second dose of Sinopharm. In total, the first dose has been administered to 9,455,968 persons and the second dose has been administered to 3,924,819 persons. The first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 1,300,070 persons, of which 872,667 persons have received the second dose as well. On Monday, the first dose of AstraZeneca was administered to 4,235 persons and the second dose to 826 persons.
On Monday, the first dose of Pfizer was administered to 84 persons and the second dose to 4,863 persons. In total, the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 252,374 persons and the second dose to 36,468 persons.
In addition to this, 159,081 persons have received the Sputnik V first dose and 14,517 persons have received the Sputnik V second dose.
The first dose of Moderna has been administered to 765,441 persons.
