The country’s COVID-19 immunisation program saw 297,314 persons vaccinated on Tuesday, of which 171,430 received the first dose of a vaccine and 125,884 persons received the second dose.
In total, the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 10,481,285 persons, or 91.2% of the country’s population, over the age of 30, and the second dose has been administered to 2,584,091 persons, or 22.5% of the country’s population, over the age of 30.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 100% first dose vaccination coverage has been achieved in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kandy, Matale, and Polonnaruwa Districts.
Persons vaccinated on Tuesday include 144,766 persons who received the first dose of Sinopharm and 9,220 persons who received the second dose of Sinopharm. In total, the first dose has been administered to 8,429,229 persons and the second dose to 1,812,744 persons.
The first dose of AstraZeneca was administered to 25,509 persons and the second dose to 116,664 persons on Tuesday. This raises the number of persons to receive the first dose of the vaccine to 973,732 persons and the second dose to 756,646 persons.
The first dose of Moderna was administered to 1,155 persons on Tuesday while the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 717,736 persons.
In addition to this, 159,081 persons have received the first dose of Sputnik V and 14,503 persons have received the second dose of Sputnik V.
The first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 201,507 persons while the second dose of the vaccine has been administered to 198 persons.
