30 engineers to train in Czech Republic

Sri Lanka Ministry of Power and Energy says plans are underway to send 30 young engineers to the Czech Republic to be trained in nuclear energy field.

Ministry of Power and Energy has made a request officially from the visiting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Thomas Dub to help train the CEB engineers, a CEB spokesman said.

Accordingly, 30 engineers who are now engaged in doing a feasibility study on setting up country’s first nuclear plant will be sent for the proposed training programme.

The Czech Republic currently operates two nuclear power stations.
