The Director General of Health Services on Sunday confirmed 31 COVID-19 deaths, which raised the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 3,533.
Of the deaths confirmed on Sunday, 16 were male and 15 were female. The Epidemiology Unit states that 2,061 persons who have died of COVID-19 in the country were male while the remaining 1,472 persons were female.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 75.07% of the total fatalities are above the age of 60, 23.59% are between ages 30 and 59, and 1.34% are below the age of 30.
The majority of the deaths confirmed on Sunday were in the above 60 age category, with the Department of Government Information stating that the deaths of 26 persons over 60 and five persons between ages 30 and 59 were confirmed as COVID-19 fatalities.
