35 COVID-19 deaths raise fatalities to 3,502

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 fatalities rose to 3,502 over the weekend with the confirmation of 35 COVID-19 deaths on Saturday.

Of the COVID-19 deaths confirmed by the Director General of Health Services, 18 persons were female and 17 persons were male and of the country’s total COVID-19 death toll, 2,045 are male and 1,457 are female.

The Department of Government Information states that 25 persons over the age of 60 and 10 persons between ages 30 and 59 are among Saturday’s deaths.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 75.11% of the COVID-19 deaths confirmed by Friday were over the age of 60, while 23.54% were in the 30 to 59 age category and 1.36% were in the below 30 age category.
