Daily COVID-19 fatalities rose to 36 on Tuesday and a total of 15,692 COVID-19 fatalities have been confirmed in the country to date.
This is the highest number of COVID-19 fatalities confirmed in a day since 8 October 2021, when 38 COVID-19 fatalities were confirmed.
The majority of the COVID-19 deaths confirmed are persons over 60 years. According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.23% of the total COVID-19 deaths are from the over-60 age group, while 22.49% are from the 30 to 59 age group and 1.28% are from the under-30 age group.
25 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Tuesday were over 60 years, eight were between 30 and 59 years, and three were below 30 years.
According to health officials, 27 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Tuesday were male and nine were female. Of the total COVID-19 deaths, 8,834 are male and 6,858 are female.
