38 COVID-19 deaths raise fatalities to 3,351

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 3,351 yesterday with the Director General of Health Services (DGHS) confirming 38 COVID-19 deaths the day before.

Two persons below the age of 30, one male and one female, were among the deaths confirmed. The COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Tuesday also include 29 persons over the age of 60 and seven persons between ages 30 and 59.

Of the 38 persons, 21 were male and 17 were female.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, of the 3,351 COVID-19 deaths recorded to date, 1,950 were male and 1,401 female.

Not including the deaths confirmed on Tuesday, 75.19% of the country’s COVID-19 fatalities have been above 60 years of age, 23.48% are between ages 30 and 59 and 1.33% are below the age of 30.
