40,347 persons vaccinated against COVID-19

Over one million persons have received the booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in Sri Lanka and the first, second or third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine was administered to 40,347 persons on Tuesday.

The third dose has been administered to 1,033,791 persons in total. This includes 37,578 persons vaccinated on Tuesday. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is being administered as the booster dose.

Epidemiology Unit data shows that 15,948,495 persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 13,771,693 persons have received the second dose of a vaccine.

According to Our World in Data, 74.18% of the country’s population has received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and the second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 64.05% of the population.

On Tuesday, 409 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 1,238 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. The first dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 11,951,811 persons in total and 10,949,970 persons have received the second dose as well.

The first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 1,553,142 persons and the second dose of the vaccine has been administered to 464,305 persons. On Tuesday, 755 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and 313 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.

Fifty-four persons received the second dose of Moderna on Tuesday, raising the number of persons to have received the second dose of Moderna to 783,013. The first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 804,801 persons.

The Epidemiology Unit states that 1,479,631 persons have received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 1,418,593 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.

The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,110 persons and the second dose of the vaccine has been administered to 155,812 persons.
