45 COVID-19 deaths raise fatalities to 3,313

Health Services Director General Dr. Asela Gunawardena on Monday confirmed 45 COVID-19 deaths, which raised the country’s COVID-19 fatalities to 3,313.

One person below the age of 30 was among the deaths, along with 36 persons over the age 60 and eight persons between ages 30 and 59.

30 persons were male and 15 persons were female, the Department of Government Information states. Of the 3,313 fatalities reported to date, 1,929 persons are male and 1,384 persons are female.

With the exception of the COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Monday, 75.12% of the country’s COVID-19 deaths have been in the above 60 age category, while 23.56% have been in the 30 to 59 age category and 1.32% have been below the age of 30.
