Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 2,862 with health authorities on Thursday confirming 48 more COVID-19 deaths.

According to the Department of Government Information, 37 persons were over the age of 60 and the remaining 11 persons were between ages 30 and 59.

Of the persons who died of COVID-19, 26 were male and 22 were female.
