5,989 persons receive COVID-19 vaccine

The Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 167,762 frontline workers in the island, including 5,989 persons who received the vaccine yesterday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 59,154 vaccines were administered between 29-31 January and 102,619 persons were vaccinated during the first week of February. This includes 9,983 persons on 5 February, 3,838 persons on 6 February and 1,625 persons on 7 February.

The first campaign of the country’s COVID-19 immunisation program will target 250,000 frontline workers with the use of 500,000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the Government of India.
