571,589 persons vaccinated against COVID-19 on Monday

COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 571,589 persons on Monday, raising second dose coverage in the country’s population above the age of 30 to 67%.

Second dose coverage exceeds 70% in the Western Province as well as the Matale, Kandy, Hambantota, and Ampara Districts.

The total number of persons to receive the first dose of a vaccine is 12,423,579. Of this, 7,703,411 persons have received the second dose as well.

This includes 9,804,468 persons who have received the first dose of Sinopharm and 5,954,619 persons who have received the second dose of the vaccine. On Monday, 48,280 persons received the first dose of the vaccine and 488,158 persons received the second dose of Sinopharm. Persons vaccinated on Monday include 16 persons who received the first dose of Moderna and 20,857 persons who received the second dose of Moderna. The first dose of the vaccine has been administered to a total of 771,487 persons and the second dose has been administered to 652,977 persons.

A total of 1,382,150 persons have received the first dose of AstraZeneca, of which 885,132 have received the second dose as well. On Monday, 11,951 persons received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 653 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.

12 persons received the first dose of Pfizer on Monday and 1,662 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. In total, the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 306,386 persons and the second dose to 185,194 persons.

The Epidemiology Unit states that 159,088 persons have received the first dose of the Sputnik V vaccine, while 25,489 persons have received the second dose of Sputnik V.
