On a directive issued by the Western Province Governor M. Azath S. Salley, 62 casual workers working in the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) will be made permanent from 1 February.
The Governor said that these employees who were attached to the Drainage Division of the CMC had been working on a temporary basis for a number of years indefinitely.
“In recognition of their continuous and efficient services, I have confirmed their permanency from next month,” the Governor said.
