63 COVID-19 deaths raise fatalities to 4,258

The Director General of Health Services on Tuesday confirmed 63 COVID-19 deaths, raising the total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the country so far to 4,258.

According to the Department of Government Information, of the fatalities confirmed on Tuesday, 35 were male and 28 were female. Of the total fatalities, 2,474 fatalities are male and the remaining 1,784 fatalities are female.

Over 75% of the fatalities are in the above 60 age category. The Epidemiology Unit states that 75.26% of fatalities are over 60, 23.46% are between ages 30 and 59, and 1.29% are below 30.

On Tuesday, the deaths of 51 persons over the age of 60, 11 persons between ages 30 and 59, and one person below the age of 30 were confirmed as COVID-19 fatalities.
