65 Lankans return from India after two decades

A group of 65 Sri Lankan living in India returned to the country yesterday after nearly two decades. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) facilitated their return and ensured that all necessary facilities would be made available to them to resettle in their respective areas, a spokesperson from UNHCR said. Minister of Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs, D.M. Swaminathan, Ministry advisor Bradman Weerakoon and the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNCHR) Sri Lanka Representative M. Golam Abbas were present at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to welcome them - Pix by Kumarasiri Prasad
