Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 immunisation program on Monday administered COVID-19 vaccines to 66,467 persons.
This includes 60,490 persons who received a booster dose, which has been administered to a total of 581,973 persons.
The first dose of a vaccine has been administered to 15,929,547 persons and the second dose has been administered to 13,745,161 persons.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 94% of the over-20 population in Sri Lanka has received both vaccine doses and State Minister of Primary Healthcare, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle in Parliament said that 84% of the over-16 population has received both vaccine doses.
Our World in Data states that the first vaccine dose has been administered to 74.09% of the population and the second dose has been administered to 63.92% of the population.
The first dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 11,944,772 persons and the second dose has been administered to 10,928,066 persons. On Monday, 972 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 3,367 persons received the second dose. The first dose of Pfizer was administered to 1,038 persons on Monday and 584 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. In total, 1,541,233 persons have received the first dose of Pfizer and 459,903 persons have received the second dose as well. The first dose of Moderna has been administered to 804,801 persons and the second dose has been administered to 782,793 persons. Eleven persons received the second dose of Moderna on Monday.
Five persons received the second dose of Sputnik V on Monday, raising the number of persons to have received the second dose of the vaccine to 155,806. The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,110 persons.
The Epidemiology Unit states that the first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,479,631 persons and 1,418,593 persons have received the second dose as well.
