74,887 persons vaccinated against COVID-19 on Monday

The second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine was administered to 25,380 persons and the first dose of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine was administered to 49,507 persons on Monday, the Epidemiology Unit states.

Of the 925,242 persons who received the first dose of AstraZeneca, 292,457 received the second dose between 23 April and 17 May. The second dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 2,435 Chinese nationals working in Sri Lanka.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 424,823 persons have received the first dose of Sinopharm and 14,699 persons have received the first dose of Sputnik V.

According to Pharmaceutical Production, Supply and Regulation State Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana, 185,000 doses of Sputnik V are expected to arrive in the island on 25 May.
