COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 84,926 persons on Saturday and Our World in Data states that 77.33% of the population has received at least one vaccine dose.
The second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 64.71% of the population. According to the Epidemiology Unit, 16,641,134 persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 13,915,137 persons have received the second dose.
The booster dose has been administered to 5,165,184 persons. This includes 65,340 persons vaccinated on Saturday.
The first dose of Pfizer was administered to 14,533 persons on Saturday and 2,311 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. In total, the first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 2,207,182 persons and the second dose has been administered to 511,836 persons.
On Saturday, 1,054 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 1,688 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. A total of 11,990,410 persons have received the first dose of Sinopharm and 11,041,535 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,479,631 persons and the second dose has been administered to 1,418,593 persons. The Epidemiology Unit states that 804,801 persons have received the first dose of Moderna and 787,361 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,110 persons and the second dose has been administered to 155,812 persons.
Meanwhile, Army Commander Gen. Shavendra Silva said the Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force are making arrangements to carry out a mobile vaccination program this week. The program will target Government offices and key public places in order to increase vaccine coverage in the country.
