COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 9,134 persons on Monday as health officials continue to urge the public to get the booster dose.
At a recently held Ministerial Consultative Committee on Health, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said they will continue to educate and motivate the public to get the COVID-19 booster vaccine, adding that the Ministry has been conducting public awareness campaigns.
The booster dose has been administered to a total of 7,812,148 persons. This includes 6,428 persons vaccinated on Monday.
The first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 17,007,475 persons and the second dose has been administered to 14,416,229 persons.
On Monday, 922 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and 1,470 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. In total, the first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 2,515,905 persons and the second dose has been administered to 880,418 persons.
The first dose of Sinopharm was administered to 17 persons on Monday and a total of 12,048,028 persons have received the first dose of the vaccine. The second dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 11,174,045 persons. This includes 297 persons vaccinated on Monday.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 1,479,631 persons have received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 1,418,593 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of Moderna has been administered to 804,801 persons and the second dose has been administered to 787,361 persons.
A total of 159,110 persons have received the first dose of Sputnik V and 155,812 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.
