‘A Vision for a New Sri Lanka’ launched

The book launch of the Factum Foreign Policy Review ‘A Vision for a New Sri Lanka’ took place on Tuesday at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute in Colombo. 

Factum Advisor and Director Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya addressing the gathering said the research for this book originated from approximately 25 comprehensive interviews conducted by the author Uditha Devapriya. 

The interviews include discussions with various esteemed individuals, such as current Diplomatic Service members, retired Foreign Secretaries, high-ranking armed forces officials, administrative services members, and other officials.

In a statement on the book launch, the President’s Media Division said the initiative by Factum is particularly aligned with President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s vision of positioning Sri Lanka as a digital friendly country, echoing his thoughts on G77.

“This book launch marks a significant milestone in the discourse surrounding Sri Lanka’s foreign policy, promising to shape the country’s strategic direction for the future.” the PMD said. 

The event was attended by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Acting Foreign Minister Tharaka Balasuriya, Chief of the Presidential Staff Sagala Ratnayaka, former Ministers Sarath Amunugama, Ravi Karunanayake, Vedda Chieftan Uruwarige Wannila Aththo, and other officials.
