The Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, E.M.M. Nandimithra Ekanayake presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Win Myint on Tuesday, 4 September, at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw.
President Myint extended a warm welcome to the new Ambassador and highlighted the strong and friendly relationship between the two countries.
Ambassador Ekanayake conveyed greetings from the President of Sri Lanka to the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Myint and expressed his appreciation on the ongoing peace process in Myanmar.
President Myint recalled the successful bilateral discussion that was held between the Presidents of the two countries at the recently concluded 4th BIMSTEC Summit in Nepal.
The Union Minister for International Cooperation of Myanmar, U Kyaw Tin, Director General of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar and the Minister of the Embassy G.A. Senaratna were present on the occasion.
