Ambassador of Sri Lanka hosts youth from ‘Vietnam Integrity School’ program

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Vietnam Hasanthi Dissanayake recently hosted a welcome reception at her official residence for youth trainees and teachers of the ‘Vietnam Integrity School’ (VIS) program.

The Vietnam Integrity School program, conducted by the organisation ‘Towards Transparency’ for the past four years with the support of Irish Aid, empowers youth in understanding their rights and responsibilities in society to bring equality for all.

Approximately 70 youth trainees and their teachers, including university lecturers and government officials tackling corruption attended the welcome reception.

Welcoming the guests, Ambassador Hasanthi Dissanayake, introduced Sri Lanka and explained how transparency and integrity pave the way to good governance and bring social justice for all, referring to some parallels in Sri Lanka. 

Irish Ambassador Cait Moran expressed her satisfaction over the work done by ‘Towards Transparency’ over the years of partnership with Irish Aid and expressed commitment to support the organisation in the future as well.

Vien Levron, Founder and Executive Director of Towards Transparency described their 10-year journey as an organisation, the VIS program and thanked both Ambassadors for their commitment for an important cause.

 Later, there was a talent show by the youth and a traditional Sri Lankan drumming performance by Kavindu Hasaranga, a Sri Lankan youth visiting Ha Noi.

Sri Lanka tourism videos were screened and all were treated to Sri Lankan delights and Ceylon Tea together with Vietnamese delicacies. Youth were delighted to be at the Residence of the Ambassador, to learn about Sri Lanka and enjoy Sri Lankan delicacies.
