The American Alumni Association (AAA), established in July 1988, will host its fourth annual barbeque celebration of the American Independence Day on Saturday, 6 July at the South Lawn of the picturesque Galle Face Hotel in Colombo.
Initially set up to reminisce and share common experiences during their time in the USA, the AAA has since carried out various programs for both outbound as well as returning graduates and has been instrumental in encouraging Sri Lankans who have received their higher education in the United States to return to Sri Lanka and serve their motherland by sharing their acquired knowledge and expertise. The association has also carried out various CSR activities, most recently at the Moratuwa Special Education School and Home for Girls where they sponsored a long-needed extension to the kitchen facilities at this home.
This year, the proceeds of the event will go towards the initiatives started by Heal Lanka which aims to address the mid to long term needs of the victims of the horrible Easter Sunday bombings. Tickets are priced at Rs. 5,000 per adult and Rs. 2,000 per kid aged between 6 and 12. It will be a fun-filled evening for the entire family with an all-American barbeque, beer, wine, music and with a kids’ play area. Anyone interested in tickets can either call Diluni on 761 480 408 or email at [email protected].
