Amunugama holds discussion on development of Kandy city

Minister of Special Assignments Dr. Sarath Amunugama chaired a discussion on the development of the Kandy city on 26 October at his Ministry. 

Ministry Secretary Douglas Nanayakkkara, Kandy Municipal Commissioner Chandana Thennakoon, Central Province Water Supply Chief Engineer Asanka Nanayakkara, Strategic City Development Project Deputy Project Director L.L.A. Pieris, Central Province Water Supply Engineer Kelum Ananda, Kandy MC Chief Engineer P.D. Abeykoon, Kandy Chief Irrigation Engineer Kumudini Deera and Special Assignments Ministry Asst. Secretary S.I. Hendahewa participated at this meeting. 

Problems relating to the supply of drinking water and steps to be taken for its improvement in the future, strategies for the construction of a waste water pipe system and problems relating to the renovation of the Kandy central market complex were discussed at this meeting.
