Aragalaya trio moved to Tangalle detention centre

Amidst global and local outcry, the Government yesterday moved prominent Aragalaya activists Wasantha Mudalige, Hashantha Gunathilake, and Ven Galwewa Siridhamma Thero, to Tangalle Central Detention Centre. 

The trio, accused for conspiring against the State, are held under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) for 90-days. The Criminal Investigation Department and the Terrorism Investigation Division are probing the trio over violent incidents that took place across the country in recent months in tandem with uprising against the Rajapaksa regime and the 

economic crisis.
