Australia is one of the most trusted friends of Sri Lanka and its people. It has offered many hundreds of thousands of Sri Lankan people the chance to reside, have a better education, and many more opportunities. Now our friend, Australia, is in a devastating situation due to history’s worst-ever bushfires. Many human lives, millions of wildlife, and billions worth of property has been lost due to this. This is the most essential time of need for our friend Australia. A few true friends of Australia have come forward to support Australia at this moment.

They have organised an ‘Ashirvaada Poojawa’ to invoke blessings on the Australian people and wildlife. This will be held on 10 January (Duruthu Poya Day) at 7.00 p.m. at Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya. The poojawa will be conducted by Venerable Aluthnuwara Anuruddha Nayaka Thero of Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya. The organisers of this noble task are Mayor of Kotte Sri Jayawardenepura Municipal Council Madhura Vithana, Senior Adviser to Jason Wood, Assistant Minister of Customs, Multi-Cultural and Community Safety and Member of Parliament for Latrobe Australia Ranjiv Perera, and President of Wushu Federation of Sri Lanka Manel Dharmakeerthie, a distinguished talented resident of Australia. All are kindly requested to attend to this noble task.
