Bus plunges off precipice, kills seven

At least seven people have died when a passenger bus went over a precipice along the Passara-Madulsima road in Badulla, police said.

A Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus travelling towards Madulsima from Passara had fallen off a precipice near the sixth-mile post on the Passara-Madulsima road at around 5.20 p.m. last evening.

As many as 40 people are reported to be injured. They have been rushed to nearby hospitals, the police spokesman’s office said. Passara Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
