Buwaneka Aluwihare takes oath as the Acting Chief Justice

Supreme Court Justice Buwaneka Aluwihare yesterday took oaths before President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Acting Chief Justice. The President’s Media Division said Justice Aluwihare will function as the Acting Chief Justice till 13 October, as Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya is currently overseas. The appointment was ratified by the Parliamentary Council following recommendations by the President. The Parliamentary Council ratified the appointment when it convened under the patronage of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
