CID Director transferred

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director Shani Abeysekera was transferred by the National Police Commission yesterday. Abeysekera, who handled several high-profile cases, has been posted to serve as the Personal Assistant to the Southern Province DIG. The transfer was made at the request of Acting IGP C.D. Wickremaratne. SSP W. Thilakarathne is to replace Abeysekera as CID Director.
