The Center for Investigative Reporting Sri Lanka (CIRSL) will hold its first fellowship awards ceremony today in Colombo for 14 local journalists who completed its investigative journalism fellowship.

CIRSL introduced the fellowship program in September for young journalists to develop their skills in investigative reporting through a combination of training and continuous mentoring for four months.

Selected by an independent panel of judges, three CIR Fellows who excelled in the fellowship program will undertake an exposure tour and short course in mobile journalism at the Center for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ), Karachi, Pakistan from 23-27 March.

High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Sri Lanka, Sarah Hulton, will deliver the keynote address at the event, which will be held from 9.30 a.m. onwards today at Hotel Ozo in Colombo 3.

The program was supported by the British High Commission and facilitated by International Media Support (IMS).
