CMC distributes cash donations to 120 Hindu kovils in Colombo City

Colombo Municipal Council distributed cash donations to 120 Hindu kovils in Colombo City under the program of providing financial assistance to religious places held at Town Hall premises to mark the Nawaraathri Pooja. 

Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Northern Development and Hindu Religious Affairs Minister D.M. Swaminathan handed over a cash donation to a trustee of the kovil. Students of Hindu Ladies College and Hare Krishna Sunday School presented cultural events at this ceremony. National Integration, Reconciliation and Official Language Minister Mano Ganeshan, Mujeebur Rahuman MP, Mayor of Colombo Rosy Senanayake, Deputy Mayor M.T.M. Iqbal, Opposition Leader M.H. Manzil and Members of the Council were also present.
