COPE to scrutinise Football Federation, SLSI next week

  • Several committee meetings scheduled for next week, including COPE, COPA as well as consultative committees 

Officials of the Sri Lanka Football Federation, Department of Probation and Child Care Services and the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) will appear before the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) next week.

Officials of the National Savings Bank as well as the Industrial Development Board too have been summoned before the COPE next week.

COPE, the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) and 13 Committees, including a number of Consultative Committees are scheduled to meet during the first week of August, Secretary-General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake said.

COPA will review the Special Report of the Auditor General on the process of supplying Medical Supplies Division of the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, the Auditor General’s Special Report on the Medical Processing Process carried out by the Medical Supplies Division of the Ministry of Health, Nutrition, and Indigenous Medicine.

COPA will also look into the audit reports of the Department of Cooperative Development next week.

The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Justice chaired by Minister of Justice Ali Sabry and the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Health chaired by Health Minister Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi are also scheduled to meet next week.

The other Ministerial Consultative Committee scheduled for next week are on Foreign Affairs, Environment and Fisheries. They will be chaired by the respective Cabinet Minister.
