COVID-19 death toll exceeds 14,000 with confirmation of 21 fatalities

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll exceeded 14,000 following the confirmation of 21 COVID-19 fatalities on Sunday.

A total of 14,016 COVID-19 deaths have been confirmed in the country to date. The Epidemiology Unit states that 76.49% of the COVID-19 fatalities are over 60 years, 22.33% of the fatalities are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.18% of the fatalities are below 30 years.

Seventeen COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Sunday were over 60 years and four were between 30 and 59 years. Zero deaths were confirmed from the below-30 age group.

Fifteen COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Sunday were male and six were female. The Epidemiology Unit states that 7,829 of the total fatalities are male and 6,187 fatalities are female.
