Health officials confirmed 216 COVID-19 fatalities on Sunday, raising the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 8,991.
The deaths confirmed on Sunday include 170 persons over the age of 60, 41 persons between ages 30 and 59, and five persons below 30. The majority of COVID-19 deaths continue to be in the above 60 age category, amounting to 75.93% of the total fatalities.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 23.08% of the total fatalities are aged between 30 and 59 and 0.99% are below the age of 30.
The Epidemiology Unit adds that 5,127 COVID-19 fatalities are male and 3,864 are female. This includes the deaths confirmed on Sunday, of which 115 were male and 101 were female.
