COVID-19 death toll rises to 12,680 with 71 more COVID-19 deaths

Health officials on Saturday confirmed 71 COVID-19 deaths, which raised the country’s COVID-19 fatalities to 12,680.

39 fatalities confirmed on Saturday were female and 32 were male. Of the total COVID-19 fatalities, 7,084 are male and 5,596 are female.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.43% of COVID-19 deaths confirmed in Sri Lanka belongs to the over 60 age group, 22.4% belongs to the 30 to 59 age group, and 1.17% belongs to the below-30 age group.

The COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday include 56 persons over the age of 60, 14 persons in the 30 to 59 age group, and one person below the age of 30.
