Health authorities yesterday confirmed three COVID-19 deaths, bringing the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 247.
According to the Department of Government Information, an individual from Battaramulla on Tuesday died of heart disease exacerbated by COVID-19. He was 66-years-old and tested positive for COVID-19 at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka. The individual was then transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where he passed away. An 81-year-old individual from Colombo-15 on Tuesday died of COVID pneumonia and an acute respiratory infection while receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.
The third death that occurred on Tuesday was of an 89-year-old resident of Colombo-10. According to health authorities, she died of COVID pneumonia while being admitted to the National Hospital of Sri Lanka.
